NYS Part 117 · Cannabis Showcase Events

Multi-day cannabis events at venues across NYC. We make them happen.

Under New York's Cannabis Showcase Event (CSE) framework, licensed dispensaries can host up to 14-day events at galleries, cafés, farmers' markets, and pop-up venues — partnered with cultivators and processors. Green Events NYC is the coordinator: we match the retailers, cultivators, venues, and audience, and handle the permitting paperwork.

CSE applications opened May 4, 2026
Max days per event 14 days
NY 2026 YTD adult-use sales $553M+

Three ways to be part of a CSE

Pick the role that fits your license or business. Each path has its own short intake — takes about 2 minutes.

🌿

I'm a licensed dispensary

You hold the retail license. Only you can pull the CSE permit. We bring you matched cultivators, processors, a venue near your shop's customer base, and the marketing audience. You host. We coordinate.

I'm a licensed cultivator or processor

You want your products in front of NYC customers. We match you with dispensary CSE hosts statewide. You showcase, retailers sell from their inventory, your brand gets discovered. No samples or direct sales permitted (Part 117).

How a Green Events CSE comes together

Five steps from interest to event day.

Apply

Retailer, cultivator, or venue fills out a short intake.

Match

We match licensed parties and a viable venue near the dispensary's customer base.

Permit

We coordinate the OCM CSE permit application and municipal approval — the gatekeeper most operators trip on.

Promote

Listed on greeneventsnyc.com (8-language visitor app + tours page) + paid push.

Run

Up to 14 days at the venue. We provide on-site coordination, compliance support, and incident reporting.

What Green Events NYC handles

You bring the license (or product, or space). We bring the rest.

Cultivator + processor matching

Pre-vetted licensed cultivators and processors paired to retailer events based on product fit, geography, and brand alignment.

Venue sourcing

Galleries, cafés, public markets, and farmers' markets across NYC. Pre-screened for distance requirements (500 ft from schools, 200 ft from places of worship).

Permitting + municipal approval

OCM CSE permit application + municipal approval coordination. Municipal approval is required before OCM issues — we manage that relationship.

Community Impact Plan (CIP)

We draft the CIP using your inputs. Mandatory for licensed events; we have the template and the language NYS expects.

Marketing + audience

Listed on greeneventsnyc.com — 8-language visitor app, weekly tourist calendar, tours page. Optional paid IG/X promotion.

On-site operations

Inventory tracking support, incident reporting protocol (24-hour OCM notification), staffing referrals, and end-of-event reporting.

⚠️ Compliance note: Only the licensed retailer holding the CSE permit may sell cannabis at the event. Cultivators and processors may showcase but cannot sell or provide samples directly to attendees. All sales use standard cannabis taxation. Events cannot exceed 14 consecutive days or 45 days per venue per calendar year. See OCM CSE Permits for the regulatory text.

For licensed dispensaries

Host a CSE — retailer intake

You hold the adult-use retail license and want to pull a CSE permit. We'll match cultivators, processors, and a venue near your customer base, then handle permitting and ops.

For licensed cultivators & processors

Get matched to CSEs — cultivator / processor intake

You want your products in front of NYC customers via CSE showcases. We match you with retailer hosts statewide. Showcase only — Part 117 does not permit cultivators to sell directly at events.

For venue owners

List your venue for CSEs — venue intake

Gallery, café, public market, farmers' market, event space? CSEs can run up to 14 days at your venue, up to 45 days per calendar year. You earn a venue fee + foot traffic. We handle permits, retailer matching, audience.

FAQ

Who is allowed to sell cannabis at a CSE?

Only the licensed adult-use retailer holding the event permit. Cultivators and processors may showcase products but cannot sell or provide samples directly to attendees. Sales follow standard cannabis taxation.

How long can a CSE run?

Up to 14 consecutive days per event. Each venue can host CSE events for no more than 45 days per calendar year.

What kind of venue qualifies?

Pop-up locations, farmers' markets, and public markets. Venues must be clear of: 500 ft from any school, 200 ft from any place of worship, and 500 ft from a public youth facility (if the municipality has enacted such a law).

Does the municipality have to approve?

Yes — municipal approval is required before OCM issues a CSE permit. Local governments retain authority to approve or decline events within their jurisdiction. This is the most common stumbling block; we coordinate the municipal piece for you.

What does Green Events NYC charge?

Coordinator fee on a per-event basis, structured as a flat planning fee + a small percentage of event sales (capped). Cultivators and venues pay separate participation fees scaled to event size. Pricing finalized after your intake review — no surprise costs.

What about the Community Impact Plan (CIP)?

CIPs are required compliance documents. We draft yours using your inputs, our template, and the language NYS reviewers expect. You sign off, we submit with the permit application.

I'm in NY but outside NYC — can I still apply?

Yes. CSE is a statewide framework. Hudson Valley, Long Island, Capital Region, Western NY — all eligible. NYC is our launch focus but we'll match outside it where the partners align.

What if my event idea doesn't fit the CSE framework?

We also run education events, brand days, partner activations, and tours. Submit your idea via the Submit Event form and we'll route it to the right product.

The CSE category is wide open. Be early.

Applications opened May 4, 2026. The first NYC operators to run real CSEs will define the category. We're putting together our pilot lineup right now — get on it.
